Bisley Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS)

BATS is made up of a group of people, often referred to as “Batties” whose common interest is on stage performances, not forgetting of course those band of people who work behind the scenes and in the wings. BATS is a non profitable Society, the main aim being the raising of funds for various charities. 

Pantomime productions to date are: “Aladdin”, “Babes in the Wood” and “A Boy and some Beans”. Our next pantomime is “Little Red Riding Hood” by Tina and Robert Burbridge. Rehearsals start end of September 2008. Batties are also involved with other annual productions within the village; those that come to mind are the “Mummers” and the “Review”.  

I am sure that I will have more to add once this is posted; a start had to be made, so watch this space.

It appears that I missed a Pantomime production, it being “Cinderella”, which gives a total of five to date.

We had a barbeque on the 5^th July which was well attended despite the weather, the idea being a get together of old and to make new friends. Thanks to Alan for organising and to Peter for the cooking, never have burgers tasted so good, must have been the way he flipped them.

Our next event is the “Are you interested evening”, which will be held at the WI hall on 8 September at 19.30. The purpose of this event is to get volunteers for the various roles on stage and behind the scenes. Readings will be available for those interested in a role to take them away and prepare for the audition.
