Overcourt

At one time a Royal hunting lodge, the present building dates from the late 14th century, and was restored by Edward IV for his mother, the Duchess Cecily.

The eastern part was added to in the reign of William and Mary, and was somewhat larger than it is now, with a wing extending towards where the school now stands.

When Bisley was divided into manors, Overcourt was the 'manor superius', and at one time home to the de Bisley family.

According to legend, there is a tunnel that runs between Overcourt and Jayne's Court, the latter being the site of the old 'manor inferius'.

The famous legend of 'The Bisley Boy' is based at Overcourt
