I moved to Chalford Hill 2 years ago and have since followed my Family Tree back on all 4 sides of my family, I am finding some amazing things out and have found that by chance my Great Great Grandfather Isaac Beckingham lived at the bottom of the valley and was an engine driver, then I found that his son moved to Reading and boarded with a Walter Henry Goodship, he was a walking stick maker. We know that our Cottage was once owned by Ronald Ernest Goodship who I think was a 2nd cousin to Walter, how weird is that. I would love to find out more about these events and maybe some local history to do with our cottage, can anyone please help?
