I have helped with a couple and found some of my own along the way related to them. If you are going to the Archives in London and you have time could you possibly look up Charles Goodcheape on the Hugeanout register that is supposed to be there. He was registered on it in 1567 and his family can be traced frm that date until now. He was a gt grandad of mine times however many. The earliest Goodship I have from Bisley is a John Goodship c1766 married to Ann Munday.
Don't worry unduly about it as I know how important it is to research your own family and make sure you have it right.
Also, another point is that I also found some of my family with different christian names and found that they either got called by there second name or parents name. My grandad was known as Cornelius to everybody but was actually Lionel, causing a lot of confussion. The same with my gt gran who was known as Jane but was actually Martha. My dad is known as Sid, his dads name, but is actually Robin. You will more than likely find the info you have is correct just a bit mixed up with the names part
