I am researching my Grandmother's family, namely PEARCE .

I have traced back to a George Pearce, born in Bisley c. 1826. There is some variation as to his exact age on the censuses. The only record I have of a George Pearce born in Bisley was to a Mary Pearce (Place of abode Kitlye) baptised aged 15 months in 1826 at Bisley parish church.

He was presumably illegitimate as no father is given on the baptism record or on his marriage records. He was married to Ellen Blake and later to Dinah Smith from Minchinhampton. He moved to Stroud.

His children were Frederick b. 1851 to first wife.

Then to second wife:

Mary Jane 1859, Albert 1862, Arthur 1866, Alice 1869, William1872, Sarah1874, George1880
