These are the basic Forum Usage Guidelines, which we would like all members to follow. Any member not following the rules will have their membership removed. Individual forums may have their own rules which must be followed in addition to these below. These rules may be changed without prior notice.

1. General Guidelines

1.1 The purpose of The Bisley Village Forum is to share, help and support others and have a general open chat about all things related to living in Bisley and general discussions about things.
1.2 Always display a positive, friendly attitude.
1.3 Be respectful of others' opinions.
1.4 Allow your fellow members to voice their own opinions.
1.5 Do not deliberately start arguments. Debates are fine, as long as they remain respectful.
1.6 Give people time to respond to your requests.
1.7 Please be patient.
1.8 Do not make threats or implied threats towards other members - even if you think its fun - it will not be tolerated.
1.9 Check that your question has not been answered anywhere else on the site. Use the search feature.
1.10 Try to keep posts on topic.
1.11 Post your comment/question to the most appropriate place. Any posts deemed to be in the wrong forum will be moved.
1.12 Use your own words. If you wish to use the words of somebody else, quote them, citing the source.
1.13 Settle your disputes in private please.

2. Spam

2.1 Do not register more than one account.
2.2 The posting of affiliate links for personal gain is not permitted. Links used to raise funds for the Village can be used with prior approval.
2.3 Surveys are not allowed, unless you have been given permission in advance from a Site Admin/Moderator.
2.4 Do not use the forums for the purpose of 'spam' or excessive advertisements! This includes forum posts, e-mails and Private Messages to other Bisley Village Forum members.
2.5 Our moderators/admin reserves the right to edit or delete any posts they consider to be 'spam'.
2.6 If we find that you are spamming our community, you will be warned by a Moderator or Site Admin, and it may lead to the deletion of your posts and/or the removal of your account.

3. Identity Theft

3.1 Do not impersonate anyone whom you are not, regardless of who the other individual may be. Identity theft is illegal and will not be tolerated.
3.2 Do not imitate a Moderator or Site Admin or chose usernames that would confuse other members.

4. Inappropriate Behaviour

4.1 Do not make inappropriate or offensive posts - including threats, harassment, swearing, prejudice, slander, deliberate insults/name-calling or other abuse towards any other member or moderators and administrators, even if this is just your own personal opinion, respect your fellow members.
4.2 Do not post pornographic or adult content. This also includes sites promoting illegal activities such as drug abuse, fake identity, illegal software, or any other content deemed unsuitable by a Moderator or Site Admin as well as links to sites containing such content.
4.3 The forums are open to anybody who is interested.
4.4 Do not discuss illegal activities.

5. Multiple Posts

5.1 Do not post the same topic in multiple forums as multiple posts are unnecessary and will be deleted.
5.2 Do not post the same question multiple times in multiple threads in the same forum. If no one responds to your question or request, just post a reply to the same message thread again to bring the message to the top of the list, refrain from posting the same topic/thread again.

6. Text Restrictions

6.1 All posts must be in English.
6.2 All posts must be readable.

7. Images and Photos

7.1 Images may be used in posts as long as they are not too large or slow down the site for other visitors.
7.2 Any member posting an image that it too large may have their post edited to remove the image or their post deleted.
7.3 Images must not be of an offensive, pornographic or illegal nature.

8. Posting of URLs

8.1 You may add a site URL in any post as long as it is directly related to the content of that topic.
8.2 You may add your own website address in your signature as long as it is kept short.
8.3 Do not post adult, pornographic, rude, offensive, illegal, racist, and other such sites or sites that promote or contain links to those sites. This should be a family friendly site.

9. Other

9. Moderators/Admin may modify, delete or move a post at any time as well as ban or suspend any forum member.

By joining and using The Bisley Village Forum, you agree to follow the Forum Usage Guidelines, and you understand that violations will not be tolerated. If you feel a post violates any of these Guidelines then please inform a moderator or Site Admin immediately.
