I have tracked my g g g grandfather Obediah Hunt [b. 1827] back to Bisley but the legions with that surname in and around the area make it difficult to see who might be related to whom. He was born in Tunley, which I assume is/was part of Bisley, although it does not seem to be on any modern map. His father Samuel [1807-1865] was an innkeeper in 1861 at the Labourers Arms in Tunley. Is that still there? Samuel's wife Ann [b. 1801] is also hard to pin down as she was a Phelps, and there seem to be even more of them than Hunts, so I have made a guess at her lineage. Two of Obediah's children by his first marriage to Caroline Nichols [1827-1858] were also at the Labourers Arms - Samuel Thomas [b.1853] and Albert [b.1856] but don't appear in any subsequent census. Two other children were with the Nichols family at Summer Street, Stroud, but rejoined Obediah when he settled in Cardiff. Any potential connections welcome. They are all on my Genes Reunited tree.
