A happy conclusion for Messrs Phelps and Millard
Henry Phelps and Richard Millard ended up going to work for John Macarthur in Camden, New South Wales. He imported Merino sheep from Spain to Australia in the 1820's. His efforts made Australia rich in the Wool Industry and it still is. Amazingly, those 2 guys lost everything they had in Bisley because of the failure of the wool industry, but, ironically, became famously rich on wool in Australia. They both made a fortune, and lived the life of a rich landowner and raised huge flocks of sheep. They even went into the cattle industry.
